This coffee comes from the farm of Levi Dominguez in the province of Jaen, Cajamarca - the third-largest coffee region in northern Peru. The region consists entirely of the Andes mountain range. High altitudes, lush jungles, and fertile soil create ideal coffee-growing conditions. The average temperature here is 24 °C.
After picking, the coffee cherries were washed and processed at the station of the Chacra Coffee Company. This is a new producer that started its activities in the summer of 2023 and specializes in post-harvest processing of coffee.
Chacra is the Peruvian Spanish word for a small farm. However, for the founders it is so much more than that. In essence, a chacra provides food for the community to which it belongs. At Chacra they work with a select group of coffee producers, mostly friends and neighbours, but all of them dedicated to the craft of coffee production.
